With only twenty guests flown in from Texas, their week-long destination wedding was as intimate as it was spectacular. The château’s towers and turrets, its sweeping lawns and secluded woodlands, became both backdrop and stage for a celebration filled with wine, mystery, music, and dance. At the center of it all were the couple, radiant with joy, and their adorable two-year-old son, Kian, who charmed everyone in attendance.

Rising above its shimmering lake with pointed turrets and pale stone walls, it looks every bit the château of storybooks. With its manicured lawns, sprawling gardens, and an island reached only by a bridge, it was the perfect setting for a wedding that was both deeply personal and steeped in romance. The guests, who had traveled from across the Atlantic, gasped at the sight upon arrival. For many of the Texan guests, it was their first time experiencing the City of Light, and there was a palpable sense of wonder as they strolled along the Seine, cameras in hand, pausing for café terraces and impromptu laughter. The day ended with a shared dinner, filled with stories and toasts, already knitting the group more closely together in anticipation of the wedding to come.

Before settling into château life, the family made a special detour to Euro Disney, creating memories that blended the magic of childhood with the excitement of travel. For their son Kian, it was pure delight — wide-eyed at the parades, mesmerized by the rides, and grinning ear to ear as he met beloved characters. The trip set the tone for the week ahead: a spirit of wonder, playfulness, and togetherness that carried all the way to their wedding day.

There was also a Bridgerton themed Murder Mystery evening, held in the château’s grand salon.  Guests took on roles with relish, donning costumes and diving into characters. It was an evening of playful intrigue, where secrets were revealed and alibis invented, all with the Texan sense of humor and joy.

There were afternoons of relaxation by the lake and evenings where conversation stretched late into the night. And throughout it all was little Kian, toddling across the stone floors and grassy lawns, making even the most formal moments feel infused with love and lightness.

The Wedding Day

When the wedding day arrived, there was a sense of stillness in the air, as though the château itself understood the significance of what was to come. The morning light bathed the turrets in gold, and the sound of birdsong carried across the water.

After the ceremony, guests returned to the château for an evening of elegance and delight.  Adding another layer of magic to the evening was the presence of a live painter who created delicate watercolor portraits of each guest. Her name is Tanya from Tropical Architects, and her work was amazing. One by one, friends and family sat for their turn, watching in fascination as their likenesses bloomed in soft strokes of color on the page. The portraits became not only keepsakes but also part of the entertainment, sparking laughter, admiration, and sometimes a few happy tears as the finished works were revealed. It was a gesture of artistry and thoughtfulness that made everyone feel seen and cherished, and it added an unforgettable touch of intimacy to the grandeur of the day.

No celebration this beautiful would be complete without the right team to capture it, and Lindsay from Creative Lab was the heartbeat behind the scenes — a true wedding bestie whose creativity, care, and attention to detail ensured every moment flowed seamlessly. The dining hall was a vision: one long table and two small rounds dressed in crisp linens, candles casting a golden glow, and flowers echoing the pastel palette of the day.

The meal was a masterpiece of French gastronomy. Course after course appeared, 5 in total — delicate starters, sumptuous mains, and decadent macarons — each paired with wines that celebrated the Loire’s bounty. The air was filled with conversation and laughter, with toasts raised to the couple, to love, and to the joy of being together in such a magical place.

As the meal unfolded, the evening was graced with speeches that stirred every heart in the room. Both mothers rose to speak, their words weaving together stories of childhood, love, and the journey that had brought the couple to this moment. Tears flowed freely — from the mothers, from the couple, and from the guests who felt the depth of emotion in their voices. Together, hand in hand, they cut into the golden confection, laughter echoing against the salon’s ornate walls. It was a moment of theatre and sweetness, perfectly balancing the grandeur of the château with the intimacy of family and friends.

As the evening unfolded, the couple gathered their guests around for one of the night’s most dazzling moments — the champagne tower. A pyramid of crystal flutes shimmered in the candlelight, waiting to be filled. With smiles as radiant as the bubbles themselves, the couple took the first bottle and began to pour, the golden champagne cascading from the top glass and spilling gracefully into the layers below. Laughter and applause filled the Grand Hall as the tower sparkled to life, a symbol of abundance, celebration, and shared joy.
