A Provençal Dream Wedding

DSC00630

There are weddings that feel like gatherings, weddings that feel like celebrations, and then there are weddings that feel like pure magic — moments suspended in time, filled with beauty, joy, and love so abundant it spills over into every detail. Andy and Lizzie’s wedding, held on the 30th of August 2025 at the breathtaking Domaine de Cinq Fontaine near Sisteron, was the latter.

This British couple, who live in London, brought with them not only their families and closest friends, but also a deep sense of warmth and sophistication that perfectly matched the Provençal countryside. Their celebration was a symphony of colour, flavour, and music, woven together with an elegance that felt both timeless and deeply personal.

From the welcome party to the late-night dancing, every moment of this wedding was a story in itself — and together, they created a weekend that no guest will ever forget.

A Welcome in Sisteron

The festivities began the evening before, in the charming medieval town of Sisteron. Nestled along the Durance River and crowned with its famous citadel, Sisteron is the kind of place where history and beauty seem to whisper around every corner. Here, Andy and Lizzie welcomed their guests to Le Lounge, a local restaurant and wine bar that set the perfect tone for the weekend ahead.

It was the height of summer, and the warm evening air carried the scent of lavender and herbs from the surrounding hills. Guests mingled on the terrace, glasses of chilled rosé in hand, enjoying Provençal dishes while catching up with old friends and making new ones. Laughter rose above the clinking of glasses, and already, there was a sense of anticipation in the air — tomorrow would be something special.

The Domaine de Cinq Fontaine

The following day, the wedding itself unfolded at the Domaine de Cinq Fontaine, a hidden gem surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards. The estate, with its stone walls, shaded courtyards, and romantic fountains, was the ideal canvas for Andy and Lizzie’s vision.

Two-thirds of the guests were transported to the Domaine in beautifully appointed cars — a thoughtful detail that not only made logistics easy, but also created an intimate, festive atmosphere from the very beginning. As the carriages wound their way through the countryside, the excitement built, and when guests arrived, they were greeted by a setting that felt like a dream.

The colour palette of the day was nothing short of exquisite. Linen seemed to be the fabric of choice for many guests, in soft shades of cream, sage, and stone that perfectly reflected the natural beauty of the Provençal landscape. The look was both chic and effortless, setting the tone for a day that celebrated elegance without pretension.

Working with Evelyn (of Eve Revelation Makeup Artist) and Stephy (Stephy B. Coiffure) was an absolute joy — they brought not only exceptional talent, but warmth, laughter, and calm confidence to the wedding morning. Evelyn’s artistry transformed the bride and bridal party with luminous, elegant looks that felt perfectly natural, while Stephy’s hair creations were both playful and sophisticated, holding up beautifully through every moment of the day. They were easygoing and collaborative, always ready to adapt with a smile, and their professionalism made the getting-ready hours feel effortless and fun. Their creativity, kindness, and steady presence added a layer of comfort and beauty to the day that the couple and their guests still rave about. Here’s a cute video that Eve did with Lizzie, which really captures their work and the talent. The gentlemen brought their own sense of elegance to the day, dressed in matching taupe linen suits that struck the perfect balance between sophistication and summer ease. Many paired their looks with Gucci shoes, a subtle detail that caught the eye and spoke of quiet refinement. Together, their style harmonized beautifully with the with the ladies in sage dresses and the Provençal setting, adding to an atmosphere that was effortlessly chic and timeless.

The Ceremony by the Lake

The ceremony itself took place by the little lake on the property, a serene and magical spot framed by trees and reflected in still waters. Here, beneath a late-summer sun, Andy and Lizzie exchanged their vows.

Lizzie, radiant in her gown, walked down the aisle with her father Nicholas, as music from a violinist drifted across the water, her smile lighting up the faces of everyone present. Andy, looking dashing in his taupe linen suit, couldn’t take his eyes off her. The ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, filled with words that spoke not just of love, but of partnership, trust, and joy.

As the couple sealed their vows with a kiss, the air suddenly burst into colour. Big shots of vibrant hues — colour canons of joy — exploded into the sky, showering the moment with light and laughter. You can see the video here, from Noy Events. Guests cheered, applauded, and wiped away tears, as the lake mirrored the spectacle in its shimmering surface. It was a finale that captured the very essence of the day: exuberant, full of life, unforgettable.

The Reception

From the lake, guests made their way back to the heart of the Domaine, where long tables had been laid out on the stone terrace overlooking the pool. The reception décor was nothing short of spectacular. Flowers in bold, joyful colours — sunflowers, dahlias, roses, zinnias, and eucalyptus — spilled from arrangements on the tables.

One of the most dazzling moments of the evening came when Andy and Lizzie stepped forward to pour their champagne tower. A glittering pyramid of crystal flutes awaited them, stacked in elegant symmetry, ready to be filled. As the first golden stream of champagne cascaded from the top, it spilled gracefully into the glasses below, setting off a sparkling chain reaction that drew gasps and applause from the crowd. Guests cheered as bubbles overflowed, catching the candlelight and reflecting the joy of the moment. It was both theatrical and intimate — a ritual of celebration that perfectly marked the transition from dinner into the evening’s revelry. Glasses were soon raised high in a toast to the couple, the bubbles fizzing with the same effervescent energy that carried through the rest of the night.

The Feast

If the setting was spectacular, the food was nothing short of extraordinary. KS Traiteur, masters of Provençal cuisine, crafted a meal that celebrated the flavours of the region while adding a touch of modern sophistication.

Before the formal dinner began, KS Traiteur created an unforgettable culinary experience with a three-hour reception reminiscent of a grand cocktail dinatoire. Rather than simply offering a few canapés, the team presented a veritable parade of flavours, circulating over twenty-five different hors d’oeuvres throughout the gardens and terraces of the Domaine. Guests mingled freely, champagne flutes in hand, while trays of delicacies appeared at every turn — from delicate seafood bites and Provençal vegetable tartlets to savoury morsels infused with herbs from the region. Each hors d’oeuvre was beautifully presented, a miniature work of art that delighted both the palate and the eye.

To complement this abundance, two hot-food ateliers added theater and flair to the reception. At one station, shrimp sizzled, accompanied by the delicate sear of beef tataki; at another, creamy mushroom risotto was prepared to perfection. These live stations offered guests a chance to watch the chefs at work, further engaging the senses and heightening the convivial atmosphere.

Moving into the Open air Dining Room

And then, in a moment of pure joy, the sound of The Conga rang out across the courtyard. Guests linked arms, forming a winding train of laughter and rhythm, and danced their way into the dining room. The exuberant procession captured the spirit of the evening — playful, connected, and brimming with energy — setting the stage for the feast that awaited.

In the dining room, the fountain itself became a centerpiece of the celebration, adorned with cascading blooms in shades of fuchsia, peach, yellow, and ivory. The floral artistry brought the entire room to life, contrasting beautifully with the stone walls and rustic beams of the Domaine.

The floral artistry by Studio Majalis brought the Domaine de Cinq Fontaine to life. From the lakeside ceremony to the reception courtyard, their arrangements of ivory, blush, dusty rose, and soft greenery created an atmosphere that was both romantic and natural, perfectly complementing the Provençal landscape. Each bouquet and centerpiece seemed to echo the joy of the day, adding layers of beauty without ever overwhelming the setting. Capturing it all was Valentin Chanladon, whose photography told the story in luminous detail, preserving not only the look but the emotion of each moment. Meanwhile, Rumen Alexandrov wove those moments together on film, his cinematic eye turning laughter, vows, and celebration into a living memory. Together, their work ensures that Andy and Lizzie’s celebration at Sisteron will be remembered not just in hearts, but in breathtaking images and timeless film.

The tables were dressed in crisp white linens, with soft sage-green napkins, delicate candles in glass holders, and elegant glassware sparkling in the evening light. It was a setting that felt both refined and welcoming, inviting guests to linger and savour every moment.

The Profiterole Tower

And then, of course, came the pièce de résistance: the wedding cake. In true French tradition, Andy and Lizzie chose a towering croquembouche of profiteroles, adorned with sparklers that lit up the room as it was brought in. Gasps and applause filled the air as the glittering tower made its entrance — a moment of pure theater and delight. Guests gathered with their phones to capture the spectacle, while Andy and Lizzie beamed beside it, hand in hand.

Music and Dancing

As the meal gave way to dancing, the Funky Fresh Band took to the stage. Known for their infectious energy and eclectic repertoire, they quickly had the dance floor full. From funk and soul classics to modern hits, their music was the heartbeat of the night.

Andy and Lizzie’s first dance was playful and fun, and it didn’t take long for their guests to join in. Soon, the courtyard pulsed with movement and laughter, linen jackets tossed over chairs as everyone surrendered to the rhythm. The band kept the energy high, the sparklers and confetti from earlier echoed now in the joyous swirl of dancers.

It was one of those nights where time seemed to bend — where hours passed like minutes, and no one wanted it to end.

A Weekend of Celebration

But this wedding was not just a single day. Andy and Lizzie had imagined a full weekend of togetherness, and the celebration continued beyond the Saturday.

On Sunday, the Domaine transformed once again, this time into the setting for a relaxed family pool and pizza truck party. The pool sparkled in the late summer sun, and children’s laughter mixed with the chatter of adults lounging nearby. A pizza truck fired up its ovens, filling the air with the irresistible aroma of wood-fired crusts, melted cheese, and fresh toppings.

It was the perfect counterpoint to the grandeur of the previous day: casual, joyful, and relaxed. Guests floated in the pool, sipped chilled drinks, and reminisced about the magical wedding they had just witnessed. For Andy and Lizzie, it was an opportunity to savour time with their loved ones, to extend the joy, and to begin their married life not just with a single celebration, but with a tapestry of shared moments.

Reflections

Looking back, what made Andy and Lizzie’s wedding so extraordinary was not just the setting, the food, or the music — though all were exceptional. It was the way every detail came together to reflect who they are as a couple.

The welcome party in Sisteron spoke of their love for connection and hospitality. The lakeside ceremony captured their romance and sense of wonder. The reception was a feast for the senses, celebrating their joy in life’s pleasures. The champagne tower and profiterole finale revealed their flair for theatre and sparkle. The dancing showed their spirit of fun and spontaneity. And the pool and pizza party spoke of their warmth and desire for togetherness.

For their guests, many of whom traveled from afar, it was more than just a wedding. It was a weekend of shared experience, a chance to step into Andy and Lizzie’s world and to be part of their story.

As the sun set over the Domaine de Cinq Fontaine, and the last notes of music drifted into the night, there was a sense that everyone present had witnessed something truly special — not just the union of two people, but the creation of a new chapter filled with love, laughter, and light.

Andy and Lizzie’s wedding was, in every sense, a masterpiece of joy. From the burst of colour over the lake to the champagne tower and sparkling profiterole display, from the linen-clad elegance of the guests to the funky rhythms of the band, every moment was touched by beauty and heart.

Held in the enchanting setting of the Domaine de Cinq Fontaine, framed by the charm of Sisteron and the Provençal countryside, it was a celebration that will live long in the memory of all who were there.

For Andy and Lizzie, it was the perfect beginning — a wedding not just witnessed, but felt, a celebration not just of their love, but of life itself.

Curating unforgettable moments, one celebration at a time,

Yours truly,
